There is an interesting story about a misleading commercial the U.S. Chamber of Commerce is running about lawsuit abuse. According to a report released by FactCheck.org, the ad claims lawsuit abuse is forcing families to spend an extra $3,500 a year for goods and services. The problem is that the ad describes a study that estimated the cost of all lawsuits, not just abusive ones. Of course, they fail to mention this. Even the author of the study says the ad is "misleading." Check out the story on FactCheck.org. Perhaps the cost should be attributed to careless actions and corporate abuse. Corporate America causes harm then adds the cost onto the product. Lawsuit abuse ?
